Walk in the Ways of God

Our goal is to equip and disciple believers so that they can consistently walk in the ways of God and have Kingdom impact in their homes, schools, jobs and the community at large by reflecting their faith and leading others into a personal relationship with the Savior Jesus Christ.
As a church body, we have been called together to seek and realize the fulfillment of the Vision Statement by:

• Worshiping the True and Living God through conversion, baptism and active fellowship with other believers, Spirit-led singing, praying and testimony, and the truthful proclamation of God's Word.
• Growing in Spiritual Maturity through the study of biblical truth, application of biblical truth to everyday life, and the use of our spiritual gifts.
• Caring for One Another through establishing open, accountable relationships, serving the needs of the body, and biblical giving to support the work of the ministry.
• Reaching Out to Others through an active personal witness, an emphasis on corporate evangelism, and active concern for those who are less-fortunate than ourselves.

Statements of Faith

God the Father - We believe that the Scriptures teach that there is one, and only one, true and living God; an infinite, intelligent Spirit whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. We believe that, in the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, with each being equal in divine perfection, and executing different offices in the great work of redemption. God is all powerful, all loving, and all wise.

God the Son - We believe that Jesus is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself the demands and necessities of human nature and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His death on the cross He made provisions for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body, and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, partaking of the nature of God and of man, and in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord.

The Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired holy men to write the Scriptures. Through illumination, He enables men to understand truth, exalts Christ, convicts of sin, unrighteousness, and judgment. He calls men to the Savior and brings about regeneration. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows spiritual gifts. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption, ensuring his salvation. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism and service.

We further believe that the spiritual gifts imparted by the Holy Spirit are still operable today and are to be used for the edification of the body of Christ. Additionally, we believe that the Scriptures teach that every believer has the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit within him but that every believer is not automatically filled with the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we are commanded in Ephesians 5:18 to be filled with the Spirit (i.e. allow the Spirit to control every facet of our lives). We believe that the manifestation of the infilling of the Holy Spirit can include; but is not limited to, speaking in other tongues, as taught in the holy scriptures.

The Scripture - We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by God's Spirit and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. It reveals the principles by which God judges us; and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tested.

Salvation - We believe that Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ, and Him only, as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. Salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification.

• Regeneration, or the new birth, is the work of God's grace whereby believers become new creations in Christ Jesus.
• Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart for God's use and purpose and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual perfection through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him.  Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerate person's life.
• Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.

Water Baptism - We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. While water baptism does not save an individual, it is the first commandment of obedience after a person has accepted Christ as personal Savior. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

The Lord's Supper - We believe the Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. We partake of the Lord's Supper every second Sunday of the month.
